Day 1
Well, my goal was to start at 11:00! After successfully procrastinating until around noon, I finally got started! I tentatively picked a target journal, but may change because it is pretty high level :P I polished the abstract and part of the intro and then got snagged in data analysis........ it is now 1:30 and I can't look at it any more!

I always have to be careful when analyzing data. I remember one time spending almost 17 hours straight with a database. I didn't realize how long I had been sitting there. I had similar marathon events with my dissertation. One thing that I found as well is that when I spend too much time with the data, I get tired (without noticing) and make conclusions that are, shall I say, not correct? Maybe limit your time when working with the data? Or, set a goal to look at one particular variable a session?
You are soooo right! I get entangled in the data for hours and then I don't want to see it again. I have decided to work with only part of the data set first......
Don't feel badly it took awhile to get started-- the important thing is getting started! If you know you'll procrastinate, figure procrastination time into what you set aside. I think you did a terrific amount and can ease back into smaller bits.
